James Pierre is the founder and managing partner of Hartford Holding Company. Pierre received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Law, with a specialized focus in corporate law and governance. He worked briefly on Wall Street (specializing in market analysis and insurance underwriting) before founding HHC.
Pierre is a contrarian who uses value-oriented principles in his investment strategy. Meaning, he researches the market for companies/real-estate holdings with strong, underlying economic fundamentals whose prices are selling at a discount to what they are actually worth. He purchases these discounted assets in bulk and achieves high returns when the market experiences a correction cycle. Pierre learned the value investing formula from the Dean of Wall Street himself, Benjamin Graham, as well as Graham's famous pupil, Warren Buffett.
Pierre currently lives in Connecticut. When he is not investing, he enjoys working out, reading and traveling.
